I have a vision of Shreveport as a fiscally responsible city with a vibrant culture that provides a safe, secure place to live and do business; a city that does the most with its resources, and one that we are proud to call home for decades to come- but I need you to help realize that vision. So tell me what you want, and join with me as we create the leadership we need for the Shreveport we want.
I stand for a style of government that puts the advancement of Shreveport before the advancement of personal politics. With a reasonable and thoughtful decision making style and a common sense approach to consensus building I am dedicated to reaching solutions that work for Shreveport.
Our city's budget will continue to be asked to do more with less, and it will take innovative approaches to address our city's needs with limited resources. I plan to use my experience in government at various levels to identify opportunities to leverage available resources.
The job of councilman does not begin and end at the council meeting, it is vital that District B has leadership that is committed to gathering input from its constituents.
From attending neighborhood association meetings to studying and implementing the results of the Master Plan to simply making myself available for comments and input, I will represent and understand the needs of District B with distinction. From our historic neighborhoods to our festivals and parades, District B provides a uniquely Shreveport experience. We should take pride in those elements of our city that give it a sense of place.
Shreveport should be a culturally diverse city with opportunities for a wide variety of people. When people with varying skills and backgrounds find success in our city, it encourages growth and development.
We must make sure that our city government is ethical and that our codes and ordinances are clear in order to foster business growth and development. A healthy economy benefits all of us, and Shreveport should be known as a place that supports responsible economic development.
Home to our Downtown, a large portion of our medical community and neighborhoods as proud and diverse as Stoner Hill and South Highlands, District B is the heart of Shreveport and it deserves a leader who can represent its many and diverse interests. I offer this district leadership defined by youthful energy and the wisdom of experience. As a longtime resident with plans to raise a family here, I have the drive and determination needed to lead Shreveport into the future.
